Constructions
of Identity
Cluj-Napoca (Romania),
23-25 October 2008
This edition's general topic is:
Identity, Nation,
Nationhood
The conference will host keynote speeches, round
tables and workshops. The keynote speakers and the topic of their lecture
will be published in the final version of the conference programme. The
round tables are thought of as scholarly debates on professional topics. The workshops are organised in the
following sections:
- American Literature
- British and Commonwealth Literature
- Cultural Studies
- English Language Teaching
- Gender Studies
- Language Studies
- Literary Theory
- Poetics and Semiotics
- Translation Studies
The participants in the workshops are expected to give
a 15-minute general presentation of their papers, which will be followed by
discussions between speakers and audience. Those wishing to participate in
such workshops are invited to fill in the Speaker Proposal Form
(click here to
download it in Word format) and submit it to the email address:
english@lett.ubbcluj.ro,
before 30 June 2008.
As usual, the proceedings of this conference will be
published in a volume.
The general conference fee is 150 lei, to be
paid upon arrival.
This includes: participation costs, coffee breaks,
lunches on Thursday and Friday, the conference cocktail on Thursday and
the publication in the conference volume.
The dinner on Friday evening is to be ordered and paid separately at the
Registration desk.
